I've been studying this shit for 20 years. The statements are halfway correct but no, most jews do not worship or follow the baphomet because most haven't even heard of it. First of all, Hashem literally means "the name" in Hebrew, it is used instead of saying YHWH in vein.
The baphomet can be found in kabalistic teachings and it represents knowledge (sophia) and polarity in the universe. Only those who have finished studying many other materials including the Bible, Gnostic scriptures, Talmud and Zohar will they possibly then get into this.
This is more like religous porn for Christians which is how I grew up. It looks scary and real enough to make people point fingers but at the end of the day the symbol is just made to mess with your mind. This version of the symbol is not even that old, historically speaking.
