isp router + separate access point router. If I have different ssid (network names) for the 5Ghz frequency on the isp and access point yet same password for both will there be interference or a problem?
There shouldnt, and you shouildn't need the same password on both.
You can set a static IP on your WAP and input it's info into the ISP router. Alternatively, your ISP router should allow you to enter MAC addresses for hardware secure connectivity - i.e I dont care what you typed in, if I am getting packets from anything other than MAC address, I'm not letting it through. thin of it as 2FA for routers.
