A human being, biologically adult, without any Y chromosomes in her genetics, only X chromosomes.

The difference between male and female, man and woman, boy and girl, all come down to the presence or absence of a Y chromosome in their sex-defining DNA.

A pseudohermaprodite is chromosomally either male or female, but due to issues with the expression expression their sex characteristics, they have physical traits that can be ambiguous, or that give them a superficial resemblance to the physical sex characteristics of the sex opposite to their own.

Make no mistake, however, a closer look at their genitals will show that they aren't of the sex they may be mistaken for being, but are in fact the malformed genitalia of the sex that they actually are.

An arguable third category could be made for true hermaphrodites, which are the result of chimerism combining two fraternal twins of opposite sexes into one child, the adult form of such a child would have two sets of DNA, one with a Y chromosome, the other without. True hermaphrodites are very rare, they are infertile/sterile, and they are often plagued with a variety of disorders that result in most of them dying before reaching maturity (though in modern times medical science has advanced enough to significantly increase the survival rate and quality of life for such individuals should they be given medical care). To classify them as a third sex is controversial. A safe bet would be to call them male, as one of their two sets of DNA does possess a Y chromosome.

Unlike in "by his bootstraps" the fact is that a true hermaphrodite could never have a child with themselves, because they couldn't have children at all, they will be genetic dead ends, and the best they could hope for regarding kids is adoption, not surrogacy or an artificially induced pregnancy, since neither their eggs nor their sperm (assuming they have either) are capable of doing their jobs of baby making.
