I’ve been on dozens of rides like this, and the design of the safety buckles and holsters have always been so obviously shitty and lacking, that I’ve always assumed it was intentional.

It’s so fucking simple to design a seat like that to be impossible to slip out of even if the shoulder brace isn’t buckled in, that there must be a dozen ways to do it.

It's $10/hr in Florida. It's also scheduled to increase $1/yr to $15. The cash rate for Mexican/Haitian pickup labor is $10-$15 too in my area. You go to Home Depot 7 to 8 am and off to the side there's a bunch of brown guys. So you offer $10 and maybe a couple of guys will come from the middle after everyone's looking at each other for a minute. That's a slow day. Otherwise you have to offer more and then they come running. No one will work for less than $10 in my experience, but maybe they would for a longer-term deal. Don't know. I've used "legit" sources before and those contracts are either Russian scams or Jewish legal robbery. The guys you pick up in the morning are motivated and they work hard. I've never had a problem with theft but then I'm right there with them. Other guys report you need to pay $15 and give them a W-2 if you want honesty, which makes sense.
