why build the crane when you have MOUNTAINS all around you?

[ - ] Her0n 0 points 3.1 yearsMar 21, 2022 07:51:15 ago (+1/-1)

No, these are trash. It takes more energy to bring the weights back up than they generate falling. This is basically “babies first attempt at perpetual energy”.

People are very stupid

It's energy storage. Which solves the Achilles heel of solar and wind.

[ - ] Her0n 1 point 3.1 yearsMar 21, 2022 09:03:37 ago (+1/-0)

Solar and wind are trash form of energy generation anyway. Hydroelectric is a little better. The best IMO is radiant energy collection, a method I use on a small scale here at home to power my homestead. I have a 150 amp source generating 1200VDC and converting it to 120/240VAC. My homestead has the same amount of power as your house and I pay nothing to anyone since I don’t have any hookups.

I don’t have solar or wind. I have a hydroelectric setup I’m working on as a backup in case something happens to my radiant energy system. Those two together are far more reliable and inexpensive compared to hoisting weights in the air.

This is to protect us from carbon dioxide emissions? Reject the idea that co2 is a pollutant and the scam reveals itself.

Your comment is 1/2 right. Your first sentence proves your second.

Explain to me how the energy required to lift the weights is less than the energy they create.

Biggest loss is friction. Your statement is correct.

Lots of friction in big things. Lose energy to friction in both directions too.

[ - ] Thought_Criminal 0 points 3.1 yearsMar 21, 2022 11:34:25 ago (+0/-0)

Water moving and pumps pumping have friction.

It’s easy to spot shills and surface thinkers when discussing energy generation or cost over function.

No one considers all the little details; the maintenance costs, downtime, emergency care, available crewmen, etc. it’s all about appearances and “votes”.

This is not a thread about an energy generation device, it is about an energy storage device. Like a battery, or a molten salt energy storage.

In other words you’ve got nothing, got it

[ - ] Thought_Criminal 0 points 3.1 yearsMar 21, 2022 11:32:45 ago (+0/-0)

It is not less, no one claims it is. It does not need to be less in order to be "highly efficient."
Nothing is free.

It is about storing excess energy for later use.

Avoiding my request for an explanation, typical.

Addressing what you used to deflect: we already have proven methods that are still low cost with experienced technicians on hand nationwide. The rushing of new methods and outlawing (or sanctioning) installed methods of leads to financial issues along with power supply problems.

Stop deflecting and provide an explanation on why this new method is “better” than what we already have.

[ - ] Thought_Criminal 0 points 3.1 yearsMar 21, 2022 12:13:35 ago (+0/-0)

I already did you time wasting jackass.

[ - ] Her0n 0 points 3.1 yearsMar 21, 2022 13:27:18 ago (+0/-0)

No you didn’t, at all. Now you are calling me names because you have no other recourse.

This is typical jew behavior, do better.

Name a competing energy storage device and I will explain where this one beats it.

Maybe you are thinking about energy generation, not storage.

[ - ] Her0n 0 points 3.1 yearsMar 21, 2022 17:53:41 ago (+0/-0)

Batteries or hydroelectric dams, take your pick.

[ - ] Thought_Criminal 0 points 3.1 yearsMar 21, 2022 20:03:25 ago (+0/-0)

Advantages over traditional hydro:
Works in drought, and on flat terrain... does not suffer from loss due to evaporation, in temperature extremes loss to evaporation is increased, and opposingly suffers frozen water.

(A fully enclosed, non-traditional hydro system with evaporative recovery and collection could be used like this closed heavy lift system.)

Advantages over batteries:
Every time you charge/discharge battery, capacity is diminished. Batteries require exotic non-renewable materials be mined. Batteries lose charge even when not in use. Batteries ignite.

It's a stupid idea. A real power plant eliminates the need for anything as stupid as this. Same with this Pumping water idea. Huge waste of natural resources to protect the environment from carbon dioxide.

[ - ] Thought_Criminal 0 points 3.1 yearsMar 21, 2022 11:36:50 ago (+0/-0)

Is a solar farm a "real power plant?" Is a wind farm a "real power plant?"

Pumping water = gigantic infrastructure and environmental damage, and the water evaporates from the raised position.

[ - ] Her0n 0 points 3.1 yearsMar 21, 2022 09:05:11 ago (+0/-0)

Everything has drawbacks but hydro is way better than this shit.
