Something I have had on my mind for quite a long time .. if the thousands of containers that go each way to and from California by rail every day, were to be loaded and unloaded in the conventional manner the workforce would be huge, as well it would be a major source of employment thence income all over the US .. I have seen no evidence of massive rail yards complete with straddle cranes and trucking facilities that would need to exist in every city .. unless I am missing something.
