Watched this with my kid a month or 2 ago. Full story is some scandinavian guy bought a tesla for a small fortune. Finds out after a few years that he needs to replace the battery bank and its going to cot another small fortune. Decides to blow up the car instead.

Needless to say my kid loved the video. Even the wofe got a kick out of it.

Everything after "finishes charging" applies to all vehicles after 2025

Many people including some politicians were calling for Elon Musk to make Russian Teslas inoperable. They can do that. Same as how new John Deere harvesters and farm equipment engines are not serviceable by the farmers. They have a constant connection with a network. They have a computer that runs the engine that won't work without headquarters giving the okay. Just like iPhones.

I've also seen police chase footage where the feds called OnStar and had the car put its hazard lights on and slow down and shut off. Get a car that doesn't need the internet.

I for one welcome our skynet overlords anything else will get your internet connection disabled

I sense a business opportunity for hackers.

Would have been great if he agreed then made a "mistake" and disabled all the politicians' Tesla cars.

Alternative option…
Order Uber eats…
Kill Uber driver
Change map course to within 1 mile of hospital
Park, wipe prints, and leave car
Go see mom in hospital….
Take transit back to within 1 mile of home
Walk home

200 miles away from home and you want to use a fast charger, good luck if your social credit score isn't high enough.

Also good luck if the power is shut down since kikes now have a smart grid.

The biggest thing I've had with all these rechargeable products is the limited life of the battery. For smaller things it's not so hard to change it out, but for a car, every time you charge it you're sapping life, much moreso when you fast charge. It's this looming cost that will make your vehicle massively uneconomical to repair at some point.

[ - ] Belrick 3 points 2.2 yearsMar 17, 2022 01:24:31 ago (+3/-0)

Yep.
Lifespan of a petrol powered car.
30 years is fair. Of course they can last decades more with ease.

An ev becomes beyond economical repair and dead without repair after about 8 years.

And the car can be in mint condition but its still trashed.

The video at the top was due to needing a battery replacement at a cost of 20k euros.

Rather than spend the money to replace the battery, blowing it up seemed a better option.

[ - ] CPU 2 points 2.2 yearsMar 17, 2022 00:37:42 ago (+2/-0)

Especially if you buy used, the previous owner may have let the vehicle sit in the cold when the battery was dead, killing some cells or damaging many of them.

It's funny now but I'm pretty sure this is the end game

As u/inacus pointed out - this already exists as modern cars are 'drive by wire'.

However I would argue that an electric car provides a greater ability to bypass such systems, as the technology is much much simpler.

Also electricity is a lot easier to come by, or create than gasoline. Coupled with the fact that using basic materials you can cobble together a home brew generator.

Hell you could put the breaks on regen, stick the car on some home made rollers and charge the thing with a goat.

Not to mention that access to petrol is a lot easier to control than access to electricity.

So does the same process apply to electric aircraft? I just ordered the AFNS-666 HA, (AFRICAN NIGGER SCRAP 666 High Altitude) from the NIGERIAN SPACIAL COMPLEX in Somalia and because I used my Air miles points card while placing my order the Mumbai call center told me that I should receive my package of "easy to assemble parts" within 2-3 years...toxic glue not included though.

The worshipers of technology earnestly believe that it frees them. In reality Ahriman seeks to enslave through the magic of technology....
