Before nights turn cool during the orange harvesting season of January through April, orange skins might not be quite “orange enough” to be visually appealing in the produce aisle. Shoppers are more likely to purchase brightly colored fruits and veggies because the color is typically equated with dense nutrients and juice concentration.

This shit is so fucking annoying. It's like with tomatoes. Most of them are tasteless, but they look absolutely perfect. Many tomatoes have been modified to be perfect looking, but scientists accidentally ruined their flavor. Next time you're in the store get one of those heirloom ugly tomatoes. They taste fucking amazing.

Exactly, and all because so many idiots won't buy a tomato unless it looks absolutely perfect. The "uglier" the tomato, the better it tends to taste.
