They are in the sense that they're displacing all of the local orb weaver species. I haven't seen any of those since the joros invaded. My yard is fucking full of them every late summer-fall.

They're pretty cool to look at and they eat yellowjackets, so they're alright in my book.

Now for an OT tangent: I want to know where all of the giant chinese mantises (manti?) fucked off to. I used to have hundreds in my yard every year and they've been AWOL for a while. They were my little buddies and a hoot to play around with. Loved 'em.
