Not much of a peace talk. Russia sets up separatists to destabilise regions in Ukraine for future Russian security (military, economic, etc) then claim those areas as administrative provinces of Russia for a minute reprieve on continued invasion.

Only to albeit future invasion, like they have in the last few decades.

I've seen this one before, I think it was the 6th episode of The Greatest Story Never Told.

Why didn't Moscow give it's "Terms" BEFORE it MOVED?

Ukraine can't grant independence to the Donetsk and Lugansk republics. They'd have to stop murdering them first.

1990s: "If you give us your nukes we promise never to invade."

2020s: "You can keep half the country if you promise not to have enough guns to defend the other half."

Volatility creates opportunity. Neither side of this internal power struggle between "which kike is the good kike" matters. The best possible outcome for me is that the fighting continues on and hopefully escalates into a full blown nuclear war. How else could a third party enter the game?

Sounds reasonably reasonable.
