Are people so retarded to think that while driverless cars are still not a thing - or even close to being allowed - that driverless trucks are going to be allowed?
All self-driving cars are required to have a driver behind the wheel still.
How would a self-driving truck with a driver be different than right now?????
What better way to move the goalposts, closer this time? Help drivers convince themselves to mass strike and shut down transport. Suddenly the media will swim with accounts of how safe and efficient driverless vehicles are. You will be called prejudiced and worse just for speaking against driverless vehicles.

Nothing screams (((safety))) like an 80 ton autonomous vehicle that can be hacked, faked out, or just downright stolen from - aside from killing thousands per year in "accidents".
If self-driving trucks become a thing, niggers will stand in the middle of every highway, encircling the truck, forcing it to stop, and they can loot at will.
Hackers will intercept the signals, either for profit or the lulz, and divert/destroy the trucks.

Furthermore, this is why the want trucks to be EV. Then they can shut down the grid and no EV truck can charge, shutting down all transport instantaneously.

That is a big consideration as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if every EV sends a unique ID somewhere every time it charges, making "targeted denial of service" a thing as well.
The kill switches, along with always on, will be in every vehicle - not just EV. ICE vehicles depend more and more on computers as well, so turning them off is no big deal.
Must have been several years ago by now, but that hacking group did the test on a Jeep and took total control of it. I'm sure newer cars have even more features dependent on "the signal" and are just as easy to hack into.
Auto makers are not paid enough to develop bulletproof encryption, and are also paid / (((regulated))) into giving everything away.

Walmart can already see this downside.
