Best 2 years of my life was quiting work to be with my kids. My wife said: "As long as you pay your half of the bills I'm fine with it". I had enough money stashed to do it and am glad I did. Should have done it sooner. Once they went to school I went back to work.

BTW, be involved pick your schools wisely, fucked up and learned that one after the fact. Likely more critical these days.

Wow, thats actually almost exactly what I did. Took a year off work to be with my boy and the Covid lockdowns started when I was supposed to start working again so I took a second year. Burned through all my savings instead of half, but it was worth it.

Same with the schooling, he's in a private institution, no way I was going to subject my offspring to the hell that is the public education system and all the diversity that goes with it.

I’m working on one of my brothers slowly but surely and he resides in L.A. and shit keeps happening around and to him.
