The company mapped IP addresses to locations. Sometimes when they couldn't find a precise location, just a country, they picked an arbitrary coordinate to represent "this is in america." This arbitrary location happened to be a family ranch who were plagued with cops, ambulances and the FBI until they found out what was happening, sued the company, and they changed the default location to be the middle of a lake.

I wonder what other new and exciting problems the technocracy will bring us.
