I lived in the communist time in Easter Europe. Now I live in the capitalist times in Eastern Europe. During the communism all media from the west were blocked and forbidden. During the capitalist times media from Russia were not forbidden until a week ago when the war started. I have the impression that we are living in a reality where it is very difficult to find the truth and all governments are lying, hiding facts and blocking information they don’t like.

Yes "your own" media is lying to you, of course. But it'a not like Russian media would tell the truth either. Granted, being able to compare the two side by side would allow the cross referencing of some finer points and would be better than banning it outright.

What is funny right now, though, is how people are coming to terms with the fact that they aren't as free as they've been led to believe and there is a distinct "grass is greener" phenomenon as people romanticize the Russian side, as if the Russian people don't feel the same way as you do about your media. How much media access do you think the common Russian has?
