What is the difference between state controlled media under the Soviet Union and corporate controlled media in the United States?

Americans know they are being lied to. It's just they believe Fox is lying or CNN is lying and believe the one more in line with their views.

I guess it went over your head. Both countries lie to the people. What is different is that Americans are generally stupid, naive, and trusting, and believe what they're told.
