I mean, is Putin "controlled"...possibly, actually...undoubtedly. Even in the best of circumstances a leader at that level is controlled by various factions, many of which I'm sure they'd ideally not be, but I, historically, have come to Voat because we didn't just go "Oh, well Clause Schwab said so, so I guess it's true."

I've seen all the other leaders admitted to being members of the Young World leaders thing, but I don't recall seeing Putin on any of that...again, not that's he's completely independent. I doubt that's the case for any world leader, even the "good" ones. Government being only but a neccesary evil in the best of cases, of course.

I can exercise some meaningful level of influence locally. You march on D.C. or whatever your nation's capitol is and you're just volunteering for a psyop. Congrats! That's why it never fucking works...but no one learns this lesson because it feels good and "fucking based man!" to say tough guy things on the internet and wave a flag in the streets while you shout at the sky.
