Any Hawaiian Goats lurking around here?

submitted by ItsOk2bArian to whatever 2.2 yearsFeb 22, 2022 01:37:44 ago (+11/-0)     (whatever)

I have escaped the mainland and began setting up a homestead in the jungle. I chose Hawaii because it's as far away from "America" as I could possibly move without changing citizenship, plus 2500 miles of ocean felt like a good barrier from the rest of the worlds bullshit.
My family is basically permanently camping while I build us a small house and develop our land for animal and crop farming. We live in tents under a 20x40 tarp canopy. We have rain catchments for water and 2 solar panels for electricity. We use propane water heaters for showering and washing dishes, and a propane grill for cooking. The kids use online schooling for education.
I'm not particularly skilled at anything, but I'm doing my best and learning to adapt quickly. We love it here and I just wanted to reach out and see if any Voaters respond

Congrats on moving to an expensive, uber liberal paradise. You will be forever known as Haole.

It's really not that bad as long as you don't behave like a typical prick tourist/flatlander. We have been very welcomed by the locals so far. A little respect goes a long way with these people, unlike the spics and nigs I had to grow up with. I've been a minority my entire life, so being Haole isn't as bad as the interwebs make it sound.
The big box stores are a little more expensive than the mainland, but like 10% markup. We mostly shop at the farmer's markets as much as possible. That's where you can really get the best food at good prices. Avocados the size of softballs and fresh beef like I've never had before.

My uncle lives in Hilo, overlooking the bay. Right down the hill from him is a whole clan of surf losers who live in the bushes and await the tide. It like all they do. It’s like a whole big thing to move to HI and be a homeless fuck. I don’t get it. Why anyone looking for freedom would move to the most communist state in the nation, and be stuck on an island with said commies, and a bunch of japs, half japs, island niggers, half island niggers, half jap, half island niggers, jap loving houlies, island nigger loving how lies, etc. it about one of the most racially degenerate places I’ve ever visited.

I guess the pork with cabbage is ok though. Don’t eat the spam. Island niggers love the spam. It keeps them fat and on welfare. Don’t eat spam.

They're called coconut niggers here, and Loco Moco is worth trying at least once. I actually never had spam till I moved here, now Musabi is my favorite gas station snack when I have to eat on the run. I'm pretty sure living in eternal summer and being low I.Q. is what keeps them fat and on welfare. It's kind of their version of Indians living on the reservation and getting casino money.
Tongans are massive humans, but they are gentle giants till you piss on their shoes.

Good luck man, you might want to look into pole-shift. I hope you are quite a bit above sea level and you have some rock to dig a cave into. I'm still thinking about where to move to.

How’s your search gone so far?
I’ve been thinking about it non stop, but unless I can buy a large chunk of land somewhere right away, it’s been a struggle to imagine where to pull the trigger.

I'm trying to figure out where the new Arctic circle is going to be, I'll go from there.

I'm on 3 acres that was cheap as it gets. It is raw jungle, but you wouldn't believe how things grow here. The "dirt" is black gold, it rains constantly, and I have more Ohia trees than I could ever cut down. I might build a log cabin just for the hell of it. Not saying this place is right for you, but it is for me. Pull the trigger man, get out of the city

Hard to imagine 3 acres of 1st world jungle being cheap.
Looks like lots of wiped out volcano lots for cheap though.

About 2000' elevation, and all the lava rock a man could ask for. I thought about that pole shift shit before I moved here, but still felt it was worth the risk. As soon as I can afford excavator work, I'm digging a bunker. Hopefully I have a year or two to prepare

Get a good door on your cave, make sure it doesn't point west, and you may end up with the whole island to yourself.

Yes, we bought it with the money we made from selling our house. We went from having a mortgage for the next 30 years, to being debt free landowners. Still poor as fuck but cost of living has reduced significantly.
I'd say true and it's not just the weedies. Petty theft, car theft, and property invasion is a real problem here because of meth. Basically any crimes of opportunity are common, so many respectable folk own home defense weapons. Fun story, the family at the end of my road caught fools trying to steal their generator and chased them off with gunfire. They scared one bitch right out of her shoes, so they nailed them to a tree at the intersection with a big ranting sign that essentially said,"my shit isn't worth your life but I'll gladly shoot your ass and sleep like a baby afterwards".
There are plenty of acceptable trails and beaches to hike. Going to far off road is not advisable since it's hard to know if you have accidentally wandered onto private property or into local gang territory.

Still appreciated, I haven't had internet access for over 9 months and I don't leave my property much, so human contact has been very limited. It was nice to unplug for awhile, but fiber optic just got hooked up. So I'm Back Faggots! I missed you guys.

I have a similar story, tent life in Kalapana for the last 10 years has been an experience for sure.

My 20x30 plastic house has gone through multiple lava eruptions, hurricanes, earth quakes and child births. This place is equally harsh and beautiful. I love calling it home.

That's awesome man.
I'm a bit jealous to be honest. Land in Aus is costly as fuck.

[ - ] ItsOk2bArian [op] 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 22, 2022 06:27:45 ago (+0/-0)

Lots of cheap land here on the big island and everywhere is an hour drive to the ocean. Perhaps it's time to repatriate

I am an Hawaiian goat. I live at the "Koolau Ranch" (as my missus and I like to call it) on Kauai's north shore. Drop me a line some time and we can go hoversurfing.

[ - ] ItsOk2bArian [op] 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 22, 2022 05:32:57 ago (+1/-0)

That would be very chill. I'm looking forward to exploring the other islands once I get my business up and running. I am creating a basic service for restaurants that doesn't exist here for whatever reason.
I'll buy lunch and drinks
