In another incident, an elderly woman on a mobile scooter was trampled by mounted police who plowed through a crowd of demonstrators. “We are peaceful protest,” the woman can be heard saying in a mobile phone video. Seconds later, a group of mounted police plowed through the crowd, trampling both the handicapped woman and another protester, whose head appeared to have been stomped on by a horse. Riot police then rushed forward and surrounded the trampled protesters.

I read some articles on this after your post. The common theme is, "oh, but the poor horse." Fuck those horses. The government shouldn't put them in harms way. In times like these, sentimentalism will get you beat, arrested, imprisoned, or killed. It's important to be able to read the weather.

I feel bad for police horses and police dogs, but ultimately I blame the humans who decided to use them as meatshields, not the ones defending themselves.
