I don't think they're worried about poll numbers though. They didn't need them in 2020. I believe the end goal is to Palestine Ukraine. Russia doesn't want a jew neighbor.

Read the comments at the bottom of the article. They're from up to 8 years ago. Some of them are pretty funny considering all that's happened since.
