Clickbait title. These people bought a product from a company that's going out of business and all their implants still work, they're just fretting the inevitable breakdowns that they won't be able to troubleshoot and repair once the supplier is gone. They're acting like buying a product eternally binds a company to servicing you regardless of profitability and they're baiting you into sympathizing with them because of the vulnerable nature of their disability. They were blind once they can be blind again. If you don't like, why don't you gas light the public into thinking evil capitalism made them blind and now everyone must be compelled to pay higher taxes to fund a state run company for retinal implants.
Remember the guy who first bought betax instead of vhs?
Betamax was a flop in the consumer market, yes. But Betacam (the professional version) was still widely used in broadcast due to its higher resolution vs VHS. It pretty much reigned supreme until the advent of DVCAM, but there was even a digital Betacam format called HDCAM that utilized the same general phyisical format. Eventually everything gave way to recording straight to an SD card or SSD.
