I’m not sure on tap and die, but I wouldn’t buy anything Craftsman. It’s not the same company it was forty years ago. Irwin and Bosch seem to make good stuff from my experience.
I have GearWrench, Vermont American, Irwin, Craftsman and other stuff I can't remember. I have had some of these tool for decades so I can't speak to the quality of the current tools except for Irwin and GearWrench. (Which seem good.)

Some were bought as kits, but most were bought by the piece as I needed them. The GearWrench are the newest because I wanted the two-handled, ratcheting wrenches as depicted below:
