Not many games garner my yearning for their release these days. I think the last game I was excited for was Dark Souls 3. Everything minus a few games (Kingdom Come, ...hmmm I guess just KCD) has been pozzed to fuck.
I've been trying to avoid spoiler articles and gaming news on it. I want to go in as blind as I can.
I'm willing to dox my gamertag if anyone wants to jolly co-op on Xbox when it comes out.
I was initially excited when they finally showed the gameplay trailer for the first time, but the more I see of the game the less I want to play it right away. It just looks and sounds so incredibly dated. Visually it looks like a last gen game, which I guess makes sense considering it's a cross gen title, but still. Given their reputation it'll likely be a technical mess on all platforms and that it'll take a little while before some of the issues are mitigated. And I'm pretty sure they're still using sounds effects from Demon's Souls which came out nearly 13 years ago.
Gameplay wise it looks like the previous souls titles but with jumping and a mount to travel quickly with. I get the feeling a lot of things will be rehashed too. Oh look, it's that boss with one arm way larger than the other again. Hey, a giant lizard with wings that breathes fire and sweeps with its tail, haven't fought that one before. A boss with a whole lot of fur? Quelle surprise! What's next, a boss with many arms, with each arm holding a weapon? A boss encounter where you have to fight two or more enemies at once? Such innovative ideas never done by FromSoftware before!
I know I'm being harsh on a studio that has IMO delivered the goods on a pretty consistent basis, but to me it just doesn't feel fresh or new anymore since I've played pretty much all the Soulsborne games since Demon's Souls (also including Sekiro). Maybe it's also because I've become more cynical and jaded because of how the gaming industry has been lately, and with all the BS that's going on IRL that's far more important than gaming, especially in my personal life. And being in my mid 30s now, I just can't really justify spending so many hours into a single game, at least not until I've achieved a few of my goals.
Sorry for being a downer OP, I'm sure if you're not a blackpilled niggerfaggot like myself you'll have fun with it. I'd join you in jolly cooperation, but personally I'm going to wait until there's a big sale on a complete edition (i.e. with all the DLC) a couple of years down the road. I also mainly play on PC so I'm not sure if crossplay is in the works.

I get bored of just grinding mobs mindlessly just to min max my gear. Although I'm a bit of a hypocrite in that sense because I play elder scrolls online a few months each year. I seriously pvp and pve trials.
And another allure of souls games is the pvp. Fuck, I love souls pvp.

i understand you wish to play a "hardcore game" but i can't recommend giving money to kikes who promote such insanity, maybe pirate it or rent it if you're actually on console
You were able to gender swap in DS2 and you've always been able to have female hair as a man and male hair as a woman. And making super ugly characters has always been a meme.
