Maybe I missed it in the article, but none of the hospital/death rates are normalized based on the general population vaccination rates.

example, assume mortality is the same between vaxed and not vaxed but the population is 85% vaxed. Then the statement that more vaxed people are dying is factual but misleading because in reality the risk of vaxed dying is the same for not vaxed.

There are likely more data sets influencing mortality. For instance, the elderly/feeble vaxed at a rate higher than the young/healthy. If more old people died from covid than the young, then an unscrupulous reporter could write "death increased among the vaxed" when in reality its just that old people are more likely to die from covid.
