There's something fishy with the fact they use "holo-" for it. In both Russian and Ukrainian, it is still spelled as "golodomor," they have a linguistic habit of pronouncing certain words with g through h, but I highly doubt that's why it's spelt so.

In both languages it is pronounced somewhat like this (except the bot-lady sounds a little tipsy):
