Always grab your gun by the trigger when picking it up.

[ - ] Shitheel 11 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 08:56:10 ago (+11/-0)

The proper follow-up technique for an errant trigger pull is to hunch up and cower.

[ - ] giantprick 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 14:40:29 ago (+1/-0)

And then drag the, for some reason attached by a string gun so it can hopefully catch on a door handle and unintentionally shoot again

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 23:11:47 ago (+0/-0)

That is a novel anti-theft technique that I have never seen before.

[ - ] KyleIsThisTall 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 12, 2022 14:55:53 ago (+1/-0)

I do this with my wallet, though not with a chain since the 90s have been over for 22 years.

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 12, 2022 16:00:01 ago (+0/-0)

For some, the wallet on chain trend never ended.

I picked up a pair of Soap grind shoes at a thrift store. I'm 40.

[ - ] Shitheel 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 12, 2022 08:48:24 ago (+0/-0)

Yeah. I've never seen that. Makes me think its some sort of policy because they had too many idiots setting their guns down and forgetting them.

[ - ] RedBarchetta 3 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 10:38:31 ago (+3/-0)

"equality"

[ - ] JustALover 2 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 11:37:25 ago (+2/-0)

That's some nice hearing damage for ya.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 3 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 12:46:12 ago (+3/-0)

What?

[ - ] JustALover 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 13:24:28 ago (+1/-0)

I SAID THAT SHE HAS DAMAGED HER HEARING!

[ - ] cb1 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 13:12:06 ago (+0/-0)

He said, nice hearing damage.

[ - ] Huscarl 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 12:20:31 ago (+1/-0)

The mental capacity of a child and carrying a gun. The way she just turns her back towards the "danger" and then just walks away while the "danger" follows her is comedic brilliance, imagine if it had fired a few more times while being dragged after her.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 12:45:19 ago (+0/-0)

I've seen that in a cartoon, I believe. Honk. Honk.

[ - ] HeavyBrain 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 17:39:32 ago (+0/-0)

Well ther wouldn't be any danger if she hadn't attached it by a string..for some reason....

[ - ] Huscarl 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 12, 2022 19:13:41 ago (+0/-0)

It's a safety precaution, usually so the enemy can't steal your weapon, but for women it's usually so they don't just leave it behind like she was doing here.

[ - ] NuckFiggers 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 11:44:49 ago (+1/-0)

Women have moments where their brains completely turn off which is why they shouldn't drive or operate heavy machinery.

[ - ] Ifuckdolphinseverday 5 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 12:05:56 ago (+5/-0)

Moments?

[ - ] NuckFiggers 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 12:37:42 ago (+0/-0)

You know those times women will walk onto the subway tracks of an oncoming train and then giggle teehee mOmMy BrAin!!! or, even worse, they will be in front of everyone trying to get in the train and just stop in the doorway and block it. Everyone's been in the car with a woman when they've done something like 'accidentally' drive into the wrong lane, miss a turn or run a red because they weren't paying attention.

[ - ] UrCoolerOlderBrother 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 13:03:44 ago (+1/-0)

The joke was that it isn't just moments, they're always like that.

[ - ] Teefinyomouf 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 14:43:52 ago (+1/-0)

Until they're mothers. This has been researched in rats and other mammals. Mothers get a boost in situational awareness and intelligence, presumably to protect their young.

[ - ] Youdgetfuckedfaggot 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 21:31:25 ago (+0/-0)

They also get a much larger dose of mommy syndrome where they're the boss, and don't have to get out of the way of anyone at home. It's not so much that they all don't notice, some are just cunts too.

[ - ] carnold03 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 20:15:00 ago (+0/-0)

A small pistol with no trigger guard in the hands of females is a tragedy just waiting to happen. Hopefully, no one undeserving was hurt.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 12:44:29 ago (+0/-0)

Female minute

Female life

Fuck.

What would possess her to squeeze the fucking trigger right off the bat?

[ - ] dirtywhiteboy 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 19:22:27 ago (+0/-0)

Its a fucking nigger. Who trusted it with a gun in the first place?

The real question.

[ - ] i_scream_trucks 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 08:00:10 ago (+0/-0)

i dont get why there was a round in the chamber. it looks like she was loading up a clip which would imply starting duty in which case the damn thing should have been locked open and chamber clear?

[ - ] Broc_Liath 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 09:17:47 ago (+1/-0)

I thought maybe she was checking it back into the armory. Some police services require every bullet issued to be counted back in to prove there weren't any undisclosed discharges.

I guess no one counted on them being negligent enough to cause an accidental discharge in the process.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 12:53:09 ago (+1/-0)

Magazine, not a clip

Every gun is loaded at all times. She should have had that mantra ground int to her thick fucking skull. If you always assume it's loaded, you don't squeeze the trigger (or put your finger on it) unless you are aiming and ready to release a round.

At many police stations, when entering certain areas, officers are required to unload their weapons and dry fire them into a bin filled with sand or other impact absorbing material. That scene is not what I would expect for a return to the armory. But then again, they trust they officers so much they have a keeper cord to make sure they don't lose them. What a fucking joke.

Magazine, not a clip

I don't think I mentioned a clip, it looks like there's two magaines on the counter and she seems to be doing something with them on some device with a keypad. Could be a barcode scanner of some kind like for stock control, or a weighing scales for checking there aren't any rounds missing.

Yes, she fucked up. I'm not a gun guy and even I know those rules: Always assume it's loaded, don't point it at things you're not supposed to shoot, don't take it out of safety or put your finger on the trigger unless you're prepared to fire.

At many police stations, when entering certain areas, officers are required to unload their weapons and dry fire them into a bin filled with sand or other impact absorbing material. That scene is not what I would expect for a return to the armory.

I have zero experience of gun storage or whatever good practice would apply here.

But then again, they trust they officers so much they have a keeper cord to make sure they don't lose them. What a fucking joke.

The lanyard thing is more about practicality than a question of trust. It used to be common for military sidearms in the early 1900s, still is for some ceremonial uniforms. The general idea is that if you're running around the place jumping on and off horses or doing other military things your sidearm might fall out of it's holster. The lanyard makes it easier to recover.

I assume modern holsters render that irrelevant, but traditions die hard and they could be using outdated equipment if it's not used much.

You got a cut and paste error. I had posted the whole comment to the parent comment, then decided the bottom para was for you and meant to grab just it. Whoops.

She must be Canadian as it's attached by a leash. She needs to go back to making sammiches...

[ - ] PeckerwoodPerry 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 08:44:27 ago (+0/-0)

I dunno, it looks like a Makarov. Still doesn't explain the leash

[ - ] Broc_Liath 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 09:16:44 ago (+0/-0)

To stop it being lost or stolen. Same reason you'd put your wallet on a chain.

It used to be common practice for sidearms to be kept on a lanyard in the early 1900s. Some areas must have kept it up.

[ - ] Splooge 2 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 11:00:36 ago (+2/-0)

It's standard practice in most spic nations, i.e. Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico, etc. etc.

A lot of chink nations do it too, in China and Japan I think the cops (that are permitted to be armed) carry revolvers on lanyards.

[ - ] ForgottenMemes 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 13:19:36 ago (+1/-0)

Could be coast guard. Keep it from going overboard when the boat is rocked by a wave.

[ - ] Broc_Liath 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 11, 2022 16:22:56 ago (+0/-0)

I think originally it was for military officers. All kinds of ways to lose a pistol in a muddy shell hole in ways you'll never find it again. Or, kek, imagine a cavalry trooper asking if he can go back for his gun after a charge.
