More crippling sanctions, seizing of off-shore assets (plenty in London), ban from SWIFT (this is also a big stick) and Ukraine could be supported with hardware to keep the war going until Russia runs out of steam.

Putin and Macron have been talking for over 5 hours:

Mr Macron, who has pushed his diplomatic credentials as he eyes possible re-election in two months' time, held more than five hours of talks over dinner on Monday with Mr Putin.

"The next few days will be decisive and will require intensive discussions which we will pursue together," Mr Macron told reporters after the meal, which included reindeer with sweet potatoes and blackberries.
