This has always been my thing with Poal. It's why I hate it and why I don't go there. Every other site in the known universe of the internet has a button to report spam, if spam becomes that much of a problem for the user. I call bullshit on AOU's alleged redefining of the downvote function. Is any spam there actually getting downvoted in this way? Why would AOU not just remove obvious spam, since he babysits Poal's queue literally every day of his life? Someone posts a link about hot nude babes in your area, and the userbase has to go about voting for whether or not that was a spam? Gimme a break.

Let me posit an alternate motive for Poal's downvote faggotry. They just can't take being downvoted. That site was founded by a bunch of castoffs from Voat, and all of them had one thing in common: They had all been downvoted to hell. So they made up this rule almost as a shared lie. Deep down, they all know there's no hot nude babes in their area. No one is spamming Poal.
