This headline hit at 4pm EST as the US stock market closed. Friday was a red to green day with tech stocks up over 2% at close. During the first 15 minutes of after hours trading the ETFs that track the major indices began to sell off to the tune of over 1/2 percent. Seemed strange. I wonder if this was the cause? At about 4:15 there was a major volume spike, so large that it dwarfed volume bars from the OPEN session! I have never seen that. The top ETFs especially QQQ that tracks nasdaq pumped.

Not saying it was because of this article, but it sure does explain the strange after hours price action from yesterday.

Bloomberg is a major news outlet. I would think it had a big influence. Good info, thanks for posting

We deeply regret the error. The headline has been removed and will be re-posted at the proper date.

Wouldn't surprise me if 90% of what Bloomberg "journalists" actually do all day is stupid make-work like pre writing headlines.

[ - ] CHIRO 4 points 2.3 yearsFeb 5, 2022 10:51:06 ago (+4/-0)

It's kind of interesting when you think about it. Even the notion of luck that may be involved. But if competition in today's journalism is so intense in terms of being first to publish, you can probably expect that these people are actively attempting to predict the news. It would not surprise me at all if they were pre-writing certain fluff posts whose headlines are basically the information carrier, just to get them out there first and then follow up with edits and secondary pieces.

Sounds about right. Remember when Fox news ran a memorial for Ruth Bader Ginsburg months before she actually died? LOL

Well? Don't hold out on us.

Why would they "prepare headlines" for events that haven't happened unless they are in the loop on such events happening?

[ - ] PygmyGoat 1 point 2.3 yearsFeb 5, 2022 10:33:07 ago (+1/-0)

Same reason Newsweek had different magazines prepared depending on who won the 2016 election.

[ - ] RobertJHarsh 3 points 2.3 yearsFeb 5, 2022 10:47:19 ago (+3/-0)

Oh yeah I fucking forgot about that. I still watch The Young Turks election night coverage whenever I feel depressed.

[ - ] PygmyGoat 5 points 2.3 yearsFeb 5, 2022 10:49:59 ago (+5/-0)

Watching Cenk Uygur lose it is pure gold. The schadenfreude was certainly flowing that night. Delicious.

Ana Kasparian goes off near the end on women who voted for Trump. She said they were the worst pieces of shit.

Haha, perfect for https://www.voat.xyz/v/lyingnewsmedia "A Bloomberg News spokesperson said the site had accidentally posted the pre-scheduled headline."

Story on the NYPost https://nypost.com/2022/02/04/bloomberg-accidentally-reports-that-russia-invaded-ukraine/ which isn't a serial and signifigant liar like the jewish owned New York Times.
