I had a cab driver do that to me once when I had long hair. I had been using that cab company every Saturday for 6 months to go to a bar. I called them and bitched. They made the old fuck come back to get me. When he dropped me off I told him I didn't like his looks either and stiffed him.

That's funny, I have a kind of similar story you just reminded me of there.

I had this phase of just doing silly dumb jobs for awhile after my bar went under, because I had plenty enough money to get by and therefore just did whatever looked amusing for a time; and for this period of time I decided to be a 'barista'. [shut up, it was a new and cool and exotic thing to be in the 90s!] Anyhow, cabbies were there a lot, and I'd often not bother charging them because they'd just order black coffee to go and it was quicker and easier to just get them out of the way so I could get back to verbally abusing lawyers for big tips [don't ask me why, but this really worked!]

Anyhow, the cabbies would randomly give me rides home if they saw me walking and never let me pay. Particularly in the rain. They always gave me a very good impression of Independent [their particular company]. Not so for yellow - those guys are cunts and I hope all their fares are con77.

I guess this story is not really similar at all after all. Nevermind, it's friday, and this booze ain't gonna drink itself!

I went to go to starbucks 1 time. I was on the road and out of coffee (well hot coffee anyways) and they were right by where I was going . So I get my coffee and it's like 2.15 or whatever, and I'm like here's my credit card. This negresse is like "our machine broken." I'm like, well, I guess it's my lucky day then. She's like, nah you have to pay. So I spent like 5 minutes digging for change in my car until I found 2.15. I don't know how they planned on selling anything these days with only cash.

Ugh, sounds like all of my experiences with them pretty exactly, which made me stop going to their faggoty shops altogether... never should have gone to begin with, but yeah, coffee.

Last time I tolerated their shit was a similar spot, where I was trying to drive over 1000 miles in a day [which I did, pretty unsafely at the end there...] and they were the only thing open at the exit I took when I first noticed how my attentiveness to driving was noticeably waning. Nothing like burnt shitty coffee to wake one up a bit for the next couple hundred miles...
