I briefly drove a newspaper truck in the 70s. There would be old guys waiting at the newspaper machine at 5-5:30 bitchin that I was late!

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 5 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 12:16:26 ago (+6/-1)

That is late. I used to get to my stop about 3am.

[ - ] Ragnar 1 point 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 21:47:14 ago (+1/-0)

I had no idea you were this old

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 21:48:23 ago (+0/-0)

I am old. Old sucks.

[ - ] Clubberlang 1 point 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 21:06:00 ago (+1/-0)

Nigger you were late!

[ - ] gimpyoldman 9 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 10:42:54 ago (+9/-0)

While I lived in Colorado my 95yo dad lived me. He would get up at 5am to shovel snow off the drive way. When I asked him why, he jokingly said he had to shovel it before the sun came up and melted it, but really it gave him something to do to feel useful.

[ - ] Qwertytoal 6 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 12:23:45 ago (+6/-0)

Im borrowing this reply. Love it.

[ - ] gimpyoldman 12 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 13:29:35 ago (+12/-0)

His favorite saying was 'if all you do is sit around, pretty soon that's all you're able to do. He was a truck driver, when he retired at 65 he had 5 buddies that all retired within a few months of each other. After a year 4 of them had died, so he said fuck this and went back to work until he was almost 80. Then he bought a travel trailer and roamed around the western US for a couple of years. Came to 'visit' me and never left. He passed at 99.

[ - ] SavageEgotrip 4 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 18:21:01 ago (+4/-0)

"Came to 'visit' me and never left. He passed at 99." Tangible evidence you might be a good human. People don't live that old unless they are loved. Good job!!!

The blood of vikings courses through his veins! Hopefully that also applies to your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

[ - ] SirNiggsalot 7 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 10:07:15 ago (+7/-0)

My grandpa was 80 mixing concrete by hand fixing his basement. He was Swedish descent.
Tough old bastards , I mean that as sincere compliment.
Not many men like that left nowadays

[ - ] Rebooted 6 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 10:34:45 ago (+6/-0)

I hate concrete work. That's how I'll die- I'll be 80 and see my garage needs floor work and say "eh, fuck, let a young man take over" and I'll keel over right there.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 3 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 12:15:31 ago (+4/-1)

Before keeling over, please kill some important parasites.

just like how coyotes breed more when under attack

'When pack animals such as coyotes, dingoes and wolves are killed, the social structure of their packs breaks down. Female coyotes become more likely to breed and their pups are more likely to survive, so their numbers may actually increase.'

Im up in the mountains with my drunk boomer uncle who has an opinion about everything with a massive belly to match. Two tranny daughters one who cut her tits off at 18 and my grandfather who is a 96 year old ww2 vet.

My grandfather and I are building a new dock and gangway…he’s installing a roku and making sandwiches until he’s drunk enough to claim he build the house here back in the 80s

My grandfather is a beast and the majority of men is my family are such a waste. Glad I looked up to grandpa and not my boomer uncles.

[ - ] 2Drunk 3 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 10:08:49 ago (+4/-1)

What does that make you? You just sit by and watch? The soy is strong with this one.

[ - ] AugustineOfHippo2 15 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 10:20:23 ago (+15/-0)

Maybe she looked out the window in between making him a sandwich and baking some bread...

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 12:14:46 ago (+1/-1)

Shit. Just saw your comment which is almost exactly like my belated effort.

That's awesome. Make him warm when he comes in.

FYI. We have a WhitePeopleThings sub that things like this would fit nicely into.

Pfft, let me know when he replaces a garbage disposal and then you can tell us how manly he is.

[ - ] watts2db 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 15:38:29 ago (+0/-0)

you aren't serious right?

[ - ] GoyimNose_1948 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 5, 2022 15:08:29 ago (+0/-0)

No not serious, but let me know when he can change his oil. That separates the men from the boys.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle -1 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 12:17:42 ago (+0/-1)

A locking ring, set screw, and a corded plug. You have very low standards.

[ - ] GoyimNose_1948 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 5, 2022 15:07:38 ago (+0/-0)

Sometimes you have to wire it yourself.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 5, 2022 19:48:43 ago (+0/-0)

Oh dear God, not three wire nuts!

[ - ] GoyimNose_1948 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 5, 2022 23:34:27 ago (+0/-0)

There are 2 wire nuts, ground is connected via ground screw. Shows how much you know.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 6, 2022 08:21:22 ago (+0/-0)

That's a bonding wire. You still need an earth ground. Earth ground and bonding are two separate things. Shows how much you know.

[ - ] GoyimNose_1948 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 7, 2022 18:40:45 ago (+0/-0)

Fine, I'm retarded for not mentioning bonding wire. But it still goes to ground.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 1 point 2.3 yearsFeb 7, 2022 18:42:59 ago (+1/-0)

I'm full of surprises...and shit. Probably more shit, though.

[ - ] spasswerk 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 23:52:47 ago (+0/-0)

May I also remind you that Swedish women are great. It's a shame about the old country....

[ - ] thebearfromstartrack4 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 22:36:41 ago (+0/-0)

I've gotten up at 5am for the past several years. I'm getting old perhaps.

Make sure he takes at least 5000mgs of vitamin c a day so he can live into his 90s.

[ - ] Ragnar 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 21:53:52 ago (+0/-0)

Sauce? Why c? Why 5000?
By c, I assume you mean industrially manufactured ascorbic acid. You should look up how dangerous that is.

If you meant real vitamin C, then oj is a thousand times better than the synthetic garbage.

[ - ] observation1 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 22:14:51 ago (+0/-0)

Yeah. Apple a day is a better way to prescribe it

[ - ] zr855 -1 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 22:36:46 ago (+0/-1)

No, not at all. Read my other comments in this thread.

[ - ] zr855 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 4, 2022 22:35:34 ago (+0/-0)

You've been sold a bill of goods by kikes looking to make a profit off you. Ascorbic acid IS vitamin C. It's quite literally what most animals make internally except humans, guinea pigs, apes and a few others. https://vitamincfoundation.org/NaturalC.htm

As far as the amounts...5grams is kind of low at that age to be honest. It's just that people usually aren't willing to go much beyond that because of kike lies. Even the kikes(fda) now say 2000mgs is the upper daily limit. They keep raising that because they were so, so wrong.

There are plenty of sources on what Linus Pauling recommended. Personally I've been taking 10,000 milligrams a day for over 30 years. I can assure you, it is perfectly safe. The few times I've been sick, I'll take 2000 mgs an hour at least. Everyone is different. Trick is to find your bowel tolerance level.

I know a dentist that sold the "real" vitamin C scam you're touting. Dude dropped dead of a massive heart attack. NO ONE I know that takes large doses of ascorbic acid has had a heart attack. That's the whole point. Cancer will get you eventually but ascorbic acid helps greatly with that as well and intravenous C sometimes cures some cancers.

[ - ] Ragnar 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 5, 2022 21:44:16 ago (+0/-0)

Thank you for the details there.
I just got a few more questions if you don’t mind answering.

Apparently, they were saying vitamin c gives you prostate cancer about a decade ago. My father stopped it I think because of that. What are your thoughts on that?
Also, my sister says vitamin c makes her bleed too much. Any ideas why?
What about citric acid?
Are you against fruits?
How does vitamin c prevent heart attacks? Mechanisms?
Lastly, you yourself mentioned diarrhoea, I always get the runs if I take more than 2000 mg. how to prevent this?

Oh one more thing, what brand do you recommend?

[ - ] zr855 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 6, 2022 00:40:53 ago (+0/-0)

Apparently, they were saying vitamin c gives you prostate cancer about a decade ago. My father stopped it I think because of that. What are your thoughts on that?

Complete hogwash. Just like anything that really works, they will spread misinformation especially when so many salaries are on the line.

my sister says vitamin c makes her bleed too much. Any ideas why?
First I've ever heard of anything like that. Who knows, she could have an allergy or just be misattributing it to the wrong thing. I'd search those vitamin C forums and just the internet in general. That sounds really odd. Probably not true.

What about citric acid?
Are you against fruits?

Fruits are great! Not against any of that.

How does vitamin c prevent heart attacks? Mechanisms?

Theory is heart attacks are basically caused by a type of low grade scurvy over many, many years. Humans have developed the ability to spackle arterial walls with a temporary substance if there isn't enough dietary vitamin C. Over time, this spackle thickens and can break off and block arteries. With enough vitamin C, arterial walls are correctly repaired with real collagen, etc. Notice you don't have this same problem in veins as veins don't have as much pressure and wear on them. It's just in the arteries of the heart and brain where there's lots of pressure and movement--in the case of the heart and certain types of strokes in the brain.

I always get the runs if I take more than 2000 mg. how to prevent this?
That means you're one of the lucky ones that needs less. We all are different. I would just recommend spreading it throughout the day, 1000mgs in the morning, 1000mgs in the afternoon, etc. Main thing is to just get a lot.

Brands

Doesn't matter...ascorbic acid. Personally I also take some liposomal vitamin C of different types as well as that occured after Pauling and seems to put more in the bloodstream. If you're ever really sick, start loading up on liposomal and just plain ascorbic acid.

[ - ] Ragnar 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 6, 2022 10:18:14 ago (+0/-0)

Thanks so much, man, lots to research now.
Re bleeding in women, apparently it is a thing anecdotally (according to my sister). She says she saw online comments mentioning it and apparently some old blogs recommended high dose vitamin C to induce miscarriage for unwanted pregnancies in countries where abortion is illegal.
She says her friend gets lip botox or something and she noticed more bleeding if she took vitamin C.

However, it’s not common according to my own quick research.

Btw, I’m very fascinated by what you said about heart attack mechanism. That’s a rabbit hole I would love to explore after work next week.

I also heard someone say you should have high vitamin C intake if you eat more carbs. I’m gonna look into that too now.

[ - ] zr855 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 6, 2022 01:19:48 ago (+0/-0)

"I recommend that every person who is at risk of heart disease should take 5 or 6 g of vitamin C and at least 2 g of lysine, although larger amounts may be necessary." - Linus Pauling

This site sells some products but they have some good information. Generic ascorbic acid and lysine/proline are just fine though if you have heart disease. The lysine and proline just speed up the process but NEVER take them without lots of vitamin C. They basically strip away the plaque but without vitamin C, that is dangerous. If it's me, I'm starting with high dose vitamin C and only add the lysine and proline months later and slowly.

https://www.paulingtherapy.com/

[ - ] Ragnar 0 points 2.3 yearsFeb 6, 2022 10:25:29 ago (+0/-0)

Thanks again! I knew of pauling through the ray peat blog, and also about lysine.
I think I may have some plaques because I have gained weight recently and my cholesterol test came back very high. But I’m super scared of lysine and proline because from my readings, I have observed people getting sick when they lyse the plaques into the bloodstream. So, your advice of being very careful and starting slowly is very helpful.

Do you know any health resources related to women I can share with my older sister? She was relatively healthy up until her pregnancy, and then she got high blood pressure and cholesterol. She is very scared of lysine too, but she is also scared of vitamin C for some reason. She is taking magnesium, vitamin K and D occasionally. Plus vitamin B and coq10 semi regularly (according to her). But she has started drinking oj and milk now.
Anyway, thanks so much for your advice and resources there. I love it!
