For real. This is so dumb, out of all the technologies he builds, surveillance is far from a primary goal
The musk hate is so contrived. I think it's mostly boomers who don't understand the technical underpinnings. Like how a 90+% reduction in rocket launch cost combined with way bigger rockets allows for so many more rockets that we're just a few years from having nonstop earth to space launches with 100 tons of material each launch or hundreds of passengers
People don't understand cities on Mars could be a reality by 2030. And these aren't best case scenarios.
Also I think elon is easy to hate because he's so successful and people envy him
I don't hate Elon. I wouldn't invest my money with him. I see how he treats other people's money. He's already rich; he can do whatever he wants with his own money.
I wasn't the one to posit this theory, but off the top of my head, a bunch of autonomous vehicles connected to data networks with cameras all around them sure would make a good surveillance network if one could freely tap into those resources.
I have said for a few years now that Elon Musk is a prop. I've seen him in several instances with professionals where Elon was completely outclassed, had no business being there, said bonehead shit and somehow social pressure made people act like it was all appropriate - and Elon can just wistfully hop across specialized professions and deliver in-demand talks to elites in those professions (seriously how does anybody not see this and recognize a prop celebrity?). His spot on Rogan was also an eye-opener. The entire modern day Tesla act. At one time he is a genius programmer, a business mogul, space travel pioneer, alternative fuels expert, AI expert, philosopher of mind, and an experimental civil engineer capable of leading projects for unprecedented underground transit systems.
Elon Musk is a pusher of the 'world of tomorrow' culture control. It's been going on for decades and decades. Anyone - literally anyone - discussing human beings going to Mars is either an absolute moron or a manipulator. It really divides that way.
"At one time he is a genius programmer, a business mogul, space travel pioneer, alternative fuels expert, AI expert, philosopher of mind, and an experimental civil engineer capable of leading projects for unprecedented underground transit systems."
Dude the different technologies he works with all revolve around the same basic physics. Plus dude doesn't literally do everything. He doesn't know it all. He had other engineers that do a lot of the heavy lifting. But his dad was an engineer and he's autistic as fuck (which explains his social awkwardness). He's no doubt been one of those people to be working towards this since he was a child. And he had the resources to give him a tremendous boost with his parents professional connections.
People let him do eccentric shit because his undeniable success endears people to him. You don't think celebrities get away with acting different than normies?
Like I said elsewhere. I firmly believe the musk hate is purely from people who don't understand him and just want to assert a lazy conspiracy theory.
Even if everything I said is true, it is still possible that Elon was a prodigal programmer and innovator. I wouldn't deny anybody the wealth they've earned for putting in the legwork to develop a new and useful technology. This isn't about accusing Elon of having done nothing of merit, or to undercut the appropriate acclaim due to him.
But we are talking about space travel, self-driving autos, AI enhanced brain chip interfaces, and civil engineering projects - in addition to rolling out the occasional flamethrower right before a Rogan appearance.
Saying that these all revolve around the same physics is like saying rocket engineering and gardening are similar activities because the same universal physics applies everywhere.
When I know that I am supposed to be dealing with a genius, or even an expert in a given field, I form certain reasonable and educated expectations about what I will hear. There have been around three public appearances he has made where it was undeniable that this was not what we were dealing with.
If the story had even been that some genius programmer became a billionaire and then invested in boostrapping a better process for electric autos (and it had stopped there), I wouldn't have been very skeptical. But then we have this:
There are certain trends you can pick up on in the history of propaganda especially in the United States. Space flight was a massive bit of propaganda in the last century. Look for controversial promises made that are never followed up on with actual progress, but a series of increasingly salacious promises. Elon was an eccentric billionaire who went and got himself a state-of-the-art hair transplant, instantly looked a decade younger, and people realized could become the modern Tesla-personality, the mad genius that changes the world. There is a huge opportunity involved with this, for curating public opinion, their views of technology and the future, and for manipulating global investing.
Sorry but doesn't sound like you know physics or engineering very well. These fields all heavily overlap and if you were in them you'd be aware of that
You're moving the goalposts. You were the one who claimed there was significant applied physics overlap between the fields I listed in the original comment. You didn't object to me claiming Elon's expertise in those fields. You said they all overlap. You've reiterated that twice. So either tell me where the significant overlap exists between civil engineering and neurobiology, or don't.
That said, I don't think Elon made an explicit claim to expertise in those fields. He hasn't made that explicit claim about any of the domains he's ventured into. It's implied, for instance when he is a featured speaker at industry events in alternative energy or petro. He appeared on Rogan discussing a project for a massive unprecedented underground tunnel system beneath LA county, featuring fully autonomous vehicles and subterranean parking structures. When Joe pressed him for any minute detail - such as 'how' someone even begins such a project - Elon literally was only able to repeat the phrase, "You did a pit." It's common sense that someone who wasn't just talking shit would be able to say a little more about it, if there was any proof of concept that even existed for such a project. I also watched him participate in a philosophy of mind conference where his input was negligible, despite the fact he is touted as spearheading the first brain-computer interface that's always right around the corner.
Dont forget all he has done to break down the wall between brain and machine. The final goal of which is to make one just as controllable and lacking in privacy as the other.
Exactly; so many people still have this childish notion that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and boy wonders who build multi-billion dollar tech companies from their garages actually exist. Reincarnated Jesus Q. Hitler is also going to save us with cRypTOcuRRenCy by the way....
That's an interesting idea. seems like it does have some traction from my experience listening about him, but he IS autistic. Hard to believe he has ANY interest in they ways of OTHER people. Frankly the whole autotatic cars for other people is a stretch, maybe it's about money? I'd QUESTION his INTEREST in other people though.
The weathy people who bought his cars were all getting tax subsidies from poor people. His mentor Klause Schwab runs a tax theft school. He's a Fagan and everyone with a connection to him is a fucking pickpocket and they don't rob the rich. They rob the poor and middle class.
