I stopped watching football years ago, and even then I only watched once a year when the Super Bowl was on. I can't recall how many times a game turned after a questionable call was made, but there are several. Everyone is in on it, even the referees, who are supposed to be impartial.

There use to be some good y-tube channels showing how the referees can actually 'control' the flow of the game almost ensuring a particular team will be likely to score by making those questionable calls --they literally showed and proved on a number of big money games how at the right time that these questionable calls by the refs can enable any half decent team the ability to score/ field goal etc.

I didn't know about that, but it makes sense. I always had a suspicion that referees aren't as impartial as they're expected (and paid) to be, and that just proves it.

Yep. I mean if i tried to explain it i would mess it up, but the way it was broke down - and then shown happening exactly that way on actual games - the flow of the game and then referee calls completely change that and it ends up (more often than not - like stacking the deck kinda thing) in a team scoring later on all bc of the earlier call - its patently obvious when you know what to watch for or whats actually happening. I mean at the most basic level you've already made the connection to bad calls completely turning a game - you just didn't realise that it's part of a bigger thing where it is actually used to 'control outcomes' without overtly looking like 'cheating'.
I wish i knew the channel or had a link of it ...
EDIT Theres a heap of ytube vids on cheating refs -but none actually collates this into the fact that its an actual means of refs predicting game outcomes, just bad refs for a single game.

I used to only watch the Super Bowl just to see if the terrorists blow it up. But unless the FBI wants that to happen it won't. So I never watch it now.
