The underlying problem is not enough fertilizer. Which means everything suffers. The farmer in the article says his farm is switching to soybeans, because it takes less fertilizer, but there won't be enough soybean seeds for everybody to make the switch that needs to.

This is no joke. We're two years into the Great Reset. If it was just Covid, well fuck, you'd think the first year would have been the worst, but why are things going from bad to worse two years on?

[ - ] ItalianoCelticMutt 2 points 3.3 yearsJan 31, 2022 15:02:01 ago (+2/-0)

Fertilizer is the main problem alright, in the sense that it destroys environments and enables conventional farming practices, which is parasitic and not sustainable (like jewish parasitism). You don't know shit about farming or sustainable ecosystems, or are purposely misleading people from sustainable agricultural practices. But jews consider farming the lowest occupation because it is the most resistant to their manipulation. Go read a book and stop eating soy laden products and seed oils, your health will thank you for it.

You're probably another keyboard warrior that will be the first to starve. Or some idiot that has a backyard garden and thinks he's prepared.

[ - ] Qwertytoal 1 point 3.3 yearsJan 31, 2022 14:49:01 ago (+1/-0)

Not sure how read you are on the issues plaguing farmers today. But a specific component of fertilizer, phosphate, is decreasing and lacking more snd more each year. Evidently it isn't something that is 'created or recycled by mother nature', and typically is found only on meteors and new planets... which we know what that means.
This is a specific ingredient that many vegetables and fruit plants need to grow.

You are what your food eats and like you your food must eat what it evolved to eat.

Eat grass fed beef and free range chickens. Corn feed livestock is makes for poor quality food

Ethanol is going to be fun. Adding ethanol to fuel already drives up the cost, I'm guessing this alone will mean a 20% or so increase in fuel prices.

nothing like live entertainment. normie meltdown in progress. welfare state has the green light. except threatening violence for gibs might not work this time because of the vexx. bureaucrats and .govs very worried. this will be good entertainment until the azazel whores start their shit, then it gets serious for some years. stoics always persevere; after the hedonists aren't in the way any more.

It's just a conglomeration different authors that write on that platform. I use to think they had some strong editorial pressure but in the last couple years. Articles are all over the spectrum.

Here's a solution. These truckers that are out with full trucks need to empty them into the homes of purebloods.

Food shortage scares are FUD. They want you to warn everyone you know to buy food so they label you a doomesday nut.

Americans in particular are fat as fuck and can literally survive for a year or more on minimal calories. Food shortages will never be zero Food available because stored food will simply sell for 100x the price. People will be able to buy and barter enough to survive for years and will overthrow the government before they die.

Just look at all the propaganda claiming that the gov is paying farmers not to farm. Ask why that propaganda exists. It's been around for years and still the farms are producing. This is a propaganda campaign.

[ - ] Empire_of_the_Mind 0 points 3.3 yearsJan 31, 2022 20:28:38 ago (+0/-0)

you got it. the american public has enough excess earnings from every paycheck to feed at least a dozen people each. shortages are real and will exist but they will have to do with specific products, specific locations, and specific times. what is going on is they are preparing the public for war and supply limitations are a part of the war experience.

So this is about the corn market: the gmo, heavily pesticide and herbicide coated product they shove into absolutely everything we eat as cheap filler. Good I say, maybe product quality will go up

[ - ] breh 2 points 3.3 yearsJan 31, 2022 13:53:34 ago (+2/-0)

It depends on how fast they roll it out. If it was a 5 year slowdown it would encourage small family farms that use their own animal's waste for fertilizer to start popping up all over the place again. If it is just a squeeze by Big Farma to knock out anyone who can't pay the extra money, there might not be immediate shortages, just further restructuring and consolidation of power into megacorp hands. It might just be a way to increase food prices enough that people start literally starving, in order to pressure the masses into communist ideals.

[ - ] RecycledElectrons 2 points 3.3 yearsJan 31, 2022 18:06:34 ago (+2/-0)

My source (at the top of a major dairy) says this is not the case. My source says they are deliberately causing shortages so they can make money.

[ - ] Empire_of_the_Mind 0 points 3.3 yearsJan 31, 2022 20:29:47 ago (+0/-0)

that's happening in Europe with gas, too. the spot prices are so high that the Euro's sold their reserve holdings that they bought for 1/10th the price. now they have low reserves.

It's not even what our food eats.

[ - ] Empire_of_the_Mind 0 points 3.3 yearsJan 31, 2022 20:31:54 ago (+0/-0)

These are export products. Those export markets are about to be closed to USA, so they are reducing production down to domestic consumption levels. Such adjustments can be bumpy.

[ - ] CPU 1 point 3.3 yearsJan 31, 2022 15:37:23 ago (+1/-0)

I don't think it will. If they did have hungry people, they will revolt. In order to take over the populace and continue the decline, they need people to have full stomachs with soy.

[ - ] AugustineOfHippo2 [op] 0 points 3.3 yearsJan 31, 2022 15:51:18 ago (+0/-0)

from what I have heard, North Korea keeps it's population under control by keeping them in a constant state of almost-starvation. if you are doing nothing but worrying about food, then you have no time to worry about anything else. if you speak up/out, then you lose food and starve.

[ - ] CPU 1 point 3.3 yearsJan 31, 2022 15:59:50 ago (+1/-0)

We have a good, solid smart community here, more or less.
What if we begin to brainstorm what situations may arise and possible solutions for ourselves, our families and our communities, we can come up with in response to these problem situations.
In addition to trying to guess the future and come up with responses to those various examples, what can we be doing now, actively.
Yes, I know, putting aside food and resources.
But maybe someone has interesting details or ideas and examples. Canning, drying, smoking, etc. Pemmican, dried bread/biscuits, etc.

[ - ] AugustineOfHippo2 [op] 1 point 3.3 yearsJan 31, 2022 15:48:27 ago (+1/-0)

there are two things I am doing, in a suburban back yard.

1. cage with 6 to 10 coturnix quail. these produce rather small eggs (1/3 to 1/2 of a chicken egg), but they are higher in protein than chickens. with 1 boy, and 5 girls, we get about 2 or 3 eggs a day in the summer. the one issue is feed. need to get feed from the local farm store. you can continue egg production into the winter if you give them light and a little warmth.

2. rabbits. i know some people will scoff at this, but this is actually a good meat producer, and can be fed with garden scraps and you can even plant a timothy grass plot for yourself to save on buying pellets. takes a bit more planning, as they take a few months to mature. just rotate the mating pair/trio with new ones every year or so.

Both rabbits and quail produce great fertilizer for the garden (just compost/age the bird poo prior to use). Both are very quiet and don't bring a lot of attention. just keep away from the house, and keep the areas clean to keep away rats and mice.

in emergencies, you can trap squirrel, rabbits, even large crows for food. plant edible greens around your yard (but don't use weed killer). i don't think fishing would be all that useful, as most populated areas stock the lakes and rivers because they are over-fished already. some people tout hydroponics and aquaponics, but it seems to me that is a ginormous investment in equipment, time, and knowledge.

freezing has typically replaced canning, but it would be good to know how to do it in case there is no electricity. for us modern dudes, it may be pretty difficult to get the hang of canning over a fire :)
