Same politics. Same enemies. Same sense of humor. Hated by the same people. Nearly same site structure. Hell, half the posts are identical.
Yet somehow, in a world full of reddits and twitters and corporate media orgs, we're going to promote animosity between these two tiny sites because some admin hurt your feelings. I can't tell if these posts are astroturfed animosity, or if you all are actual morons.
Because the majority of poal users had no negative experience with AOU.
He gives jew tags and blue names for two common offences, the majority of people bitching here broke those two rules he asked people to follow upfront. Rule 1 downvote isnt a disagree button, it's for spam or suspicious behavior, next rule was no suspicious behavior, if you come around sharing URLs with out https to sketchy websites or link to known honeypots or trackers, or just use sock accounts to self promote your website.
He also leaned heavy into patrolling spammy trolls and people who fit the behavioral profile of Something Awful forum Goons.
Earning a jew tag wasn't a ban, getting blue named would make you destitute of fake internet points until he decided you weren't a collosal faggot but that doesn't stop you from posting, just slows down how often you can post and comment.
Strict moderation like this is what made 8chan so nice back in the day, glowniggers couldn't weasel their way in and stir up flame wars.
Both sites being up to keep both flavors if moderation is fine by me.
Personal note I still used downvotes on poal plenty I just made sure that I earned 10 fake internet points for every downvote I handed out. I'm pretty sure the site had some sort of hidden "karma" system if somebody got jew or nigger tagged or deleted their account or were banned or blue named I'm pretty sure it refunded all the upvotes and downvotes you traded and turned all your downvotes on their comments and posts into fake internet points applied to your account.
I wish the community weren't divided between two sites but lax moderation creates fertile ground for malicious actors, and I don't mean the old fun voat trolls, I mean schizos who accuse as many users as possible of being pedos or glow niggers without basis so as to stir up flame wars and manipulate admins into sabotaging their sites or like Putt did with a couple of ban waves brought on by sycophantic loons that he had to reverse after it became public he had just banned his ballwasher's list of enemies.
