If you can get a proper url to an article archive sites generally get around paywalls as well.

Get ublock origin, or some other way to block scripts (javascript? I don't know what type they are) and block everything.

With ublock I click the shield icon in my browser, and hit the icon html markup icon (doesn't display here due to formatting) and then the refresh button.

It's worked every time - so far. Everyone is using scripts to limit access, and just blocking the scripts shows the text.

Edit:
Making the change locally is safer and faster than getting another website involved - I would guess. Could also be a potential honeypot, or statistics gatherer for "protecting the web" in the future... I am skeptical.

Can confirm, tested on a jew york times article just now and clicking the HTML button disabled their stupid paywall. Thanks man!

No worries. Been using this method for over a year on all news sites that want signups or shekels. Not that I go to them very often, but for some of the interesting news it is easier than an archive site, and definitely better than a sketchy new site (until rigorously tested).

It's the "less than" "slash" "greater than" at the far right about halfway down.

You might have to click the "more" button at the bottom to get it to fully display the different filter settings.
