its so interesting to me how many different meanings this symbol has to different people. kind of inspiring

Eclipses. Back in the 1st to 6th century, it was believed that children born on the year of the Black Sun would bring the end of the world. Scandinavian tribesmen believed the Black Sun would bring the Ragnarok. Germanics thought it as a bad omen, but generally as a symbol of change, whether good or bad.

A symbol is whatever two or more persons agrees it is.

The publicity of an agreed upon symbol is all that matters

It's another version of the swastika/triskel. They're all ancient european solar-wheel symbols.

It has nothing to do with Nazis.

It's an just an ancient symbol that is commonly found in Germanic archeological sites. It's so ancient, that saying what it means with any certanty is lost to time.

There are many German myths about the sun being consumed during Ragnarok. But I suspect the Black Sun itself is older than the modern myth. IE Ragnarok has evolved over millennia from a proto-entropy myth.

All we know is that it belongs to us and our people are older than history.

Then we can compare this symbol to the symbols of other civilizations and know who we aren't. Is the Black Sun a Star of David? No? OK, well we aren't Jews. I can live with that. Is the Black Sun a Cross? No? OK, we aren't Christians. I can live with that too.

So, What are we? We are Germans, and don't you fucking forget it! And the Black Sun is ours!

Some say there is an actual black sun which sits in the sky much like the regular sun, and when we see an eclipse we are seeing the black sun.

Although its spoken of in numerous historical texts in various civilizations across the planet, currently we have no proof.

The modern black sun image appears to be almost entirely modern with a basis in antiquity, the point being that the 3rd reich had the swastika and that any new movement in that direction would need a new symbol, someone told me they had seen it in 3rd reich architecture and art but I've not seen it. There are ancient pendants. And what are either ceremonial or jewelery items we've found in digs with a strikingly similar motif. We have no notion of how they called this motif, the name black sun is a modern invention based on older myths you'll see referenced in this comment section but also I believe "black sun" was chosen because many see the sun as the eye of God and that on an eclipse day God cannot see what we do in the shadow of the moon, it's a symbol that predicts a black day of retribution and among those using it we have the common notion of the day of the rope, or rope day. The feelings and attitude behind these notions is similar and I believe it is what drives the modern attraction to the modern black sun symbol.

It's also worth noting that the arms of the black sun are much more widely flung, aside from the black sun dedicated communities here and on poal who see it exclusively as a pagan symbol for german origin peoples, I believe most who hold a place for the black sun image in their hearts merely experience the image as a call for whites across white and western civilization to rise up in unison and cast down the outsiders, whom I do not believe are defined as Christian whites as the deluded few in those two subverses do but are the muslim, hispanic, and negroe invaders and that the system which must be cast down to achieve this is jewish power and order. Thus the black sun has a broad appeal to all whites and in manny cases I have observed it appeals to peoples who believe in their own aryan origins be they indians or mestizos.

In simplest terms the modern black sun symbolizes a time of upheaval when whites will overthrow the current order and reestablish ourselves.

It is heraldic symbolism.

I've heard that it simply represents Saturn. Apparently there was a time back in ancient days where Saturn was bright like a star.

The black sun varies, but one that has been pretty consistent throughout the world is that it's symbolic for the head of the heathen patheon gods. For the Greeks, this was Zeus, for the Romans this was Jupiter, and so on. However, it's also the symbolism used in witchcraft circles to represent the devil.
