CZ-75B. I don't need a light to give them a place to aim. My pistol is shooting where I point it. Shooting one feels like cheating. That is after I've gone through every round from my tactical shotguns.
I know 1911s are hot shit and everything but... why, in this day and age, would you want a single stack 1911 with no rail for a light or anything? I've been holding out on getting a 1911 until I find a double stack one that I like, preferably with a rail to mount a light. If someone broke into my house at night, I don't want to have to worry about flipping on any light switches.
I absolutely love my HK USP .45 expert however it is too expensive and large of a gun to carry every day and has a manual safety. For this reason the springfield XDM2 .45 acp is my main carry of choice.
That being said the USP is a far, FAR superior gun to the 1911 in every single quantifiable way and even still it falls short in simple practical cocked-locked-ready carry gun/home defense when compared to a glock or XD for practical reasons.
The mental gymnastics it takes to justify 1911 ownership is incredible. The MSRP of a decent 1911 is usually well over $1000 and for that money you can buy some truly great pistols like the FNX and USP.
I got a CZ P-10F not too long ago and holy shit. I was very against striker pistols before I caved and got it, and it's the nicest shooting, and feeling pistol I've ever shot. It has a rail, a place to mount an optic should I want to, really nice iron sights, it holds 19 fuckin 9mm rounds, the trigger is great for a striker. It's so good that I went and got a CZ Scorpion soon after, which is a ton of fun to shoot.
Nice. Have owned a cz75 in the past and was happy with it. Perhaps I should take a look at them again. Next gun I have my eyes on is the springfield sa-35. It is just too sexy to not have
I can see the appeal. I mean, I do think it would be neat to have a "close to government model" 1911 too. I just wouldn't carry it. I have a cheap-ish Sig P250, double action only, .40S&W that I actually carry because I wouldn't mind so much if it got seized by police if I had to defend myself with it. Then I have my baby, a CZ P10F. It's a dream to shoot.
