I gotta share this. Back in 2017 I was given the contract to plan,rig,hoist and set into place a modular, emergency backup,electrical building for one of Canada's new Customs and Border facilities. I planned the placement using a 165 ton Demag AT and the lift required two streets being secured and off limits. We had ample delineators signaling to the public that the streets and area was off limits...LOW AND BEHOLD, THE DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF APPROACHES AT THE EXACT TIME THAT I'VE GOT 75,000LBS SUSPENDED MID AIR AND TRIES TO DRIVE RIGHT UNDER IT...the site erupted and I ran over to the fucking idiot who looked like he was impersonating a highly decorated military officer, and I yelled "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?" and his highly intellectual response was," oh I thought you were done "....my jaw picked up dirt, I just pointed for him to turn around. I've worked on emergency rescue and recovery along side of the Ontario Provincial Police, military and Ministry of Natural Resources and I've been involved in the transfer of hexaflourine cake...the OPP have some good common sense guts but every other EMS agency is staffed (nepotism) with fucking clowns. A lot of fire fighters are a joke. And I could tell you lots.
I know I know, "they're heewohz!", but you don't have to interact with them. Divershitty and politics have taken over our 1st responder departments.
The only thing more arrogant than a fire fighter is a cop. And cops hates firemen because people actually like them.
Swear to God, two fireman conversations ago the idiot had the balls to say "yeah, I'm more of a hop out the truck, run into the burning building and save the baby type of fireman.....". I did all I could not to puke in his idiot face.
Voat has shown me many things. The differences between Europeans and the other races are many. One great example is the ability to empathize with others, even complete strangers. You see, your story makes me want to puke in his face, too.
THat's even worse. The fire department in Bornem, Belgium says they staged it as a joke for their facebook page like teenage girls.
But they didn't say it until a few weeks after they posted it, and it went viral with people ridiculing their dumb. So says pity diversity hire Mr. Wong anyway.
Those ramps in the picture are train ramps (red), not to be confused with automobile ramps (yellow). They look very similar other than the color code. The red train ramps are reinforced in such a way that the train can smoothly go up and over the hose without causing damage.
Unless they are made of steel and weigh roughly 800 pounds, they won't do anything for a train.
Additionally, if that is the actual use for these, they will most likely not be safety rated, as they could create a derailment due to the high grade (slope) of them. If not placed symmetrically, one side of the train would rise before the other, and could cause significant load displacement. Max grade for trains is around 3% - a rise of 3ft for a horizontal length of 100ft.
