The House of Lords has voted to make misogyny a hate crime in England and Wales, in a night of several defeats for the government in the upper chamber.

The law change would enable judges to impose stronger penalties if prejudice against women is proved to be the motivation, and would also require the police to record whether crimes were motivated by a hatred of someone’s sex or gender.

A new law to disenfranchise White men. This will not be enforced on Arab rape gangs.

Very dishonest language in the article but I’d expect nothing better of the guardian. The Lords cannot amend laws, they can merely propose amendments to bills and these proposals can be accepted (very rare) or rejected by the Commons. As far as I’m aware, delaying the passing of bill for up to two years is the absolute pinnacle of the power which the British upper house can exercise.

Let's see if this is ever used to pile on the charges against a non-white charged with rape. My wager, it never will be.

Instead, it will be used as a weird kind of precedent for an arbitrary class of crimes that make women feel unsafe, and will be used against Christianity, and against fathers who argue with their ex-wives about blocking their child's puberty. Of course, I'm sure it could somehow also be used by 'trans women' who incur criticism for the fuckery they cause almost everywhere.
