how come a post-communist hellhole like Russia has more sense than most of the first world countries?

i'm starting to think Civ Beyond Earth (a very pozzed game) would actually be correct, Russia would be one of the last masculine white countries in the world

There's a detail often missed in that story. He knew the guy was being transferred through the airport on that day at that time because the press tipped him off. The guys behind the cameras filming the event were the ones who set it up and made it possible. I'd like to think they did so out of a sense of justice, but I think we all know that's not why they did it.

That's the upshot for me. Vigilante justice is unreliable and dangerous, but if society won't impose a measured and rational form of justice then it's all people have.
