I think it's natural to feel that way because it's irreversible. Nobody wants to feel like a rube, but especially when your life and health are on the line.

Before understanding people like this conservative’ish troglodyte, I use to be so confused how so many Germans and other Europeans didn’t support Hitler.
Even aside from all the communists and other obvious opposition, there was still this MASSIVE group of conservative types that either just refused him or stayed neutral. And this just baffled me.
But there’s just this morally and racially inert class, that no matter how obvious the problem is, no matter how inundated their environment is, with this suffocating fog in every aspect of their lives. No matter how well they virtue signal “common sense” or even tare apart marxist types, or how obvious the solution is to that problem, they’re simply allergic to it’s existence for them or anyone else. And from wherever they are in that spectrum, they can only be inspired to prevent the solution or do nothing. So they can share everything with those that know the solution like their race or religion or even blood relation, and have even lost the most to that problem, yet immediately become the enemy of any actual solution.
Depending on the angle, conservatism can be either purgatory, or just insanity. But it’s absolutely a state of debased mind.
As a group, I think because they’ve been taught to shame the collectivizing around that which makes them a people. So no natural instinct can find it’s purpose or potential. They can hate 90% of the right things but it’s still meaningless if you don’t love the right things to.
It’s like listening to feminists and MGTOW assholes arguing every aspect of relationships without either one pointing out that reproduction is the only reason any of it exists in the first place. So they’re both just securing their own destruction by default.
As a group, I think because they’ve been taught to shame the collectivizing around that which makes them a people. So no natural instinct can find it’s purpose or potential. They can hate 90% of the right things but it’s still meaningless if you don’t love the right things to.

Eh... it's a very broad term. At it's broadest it includes everyone who's sceptical of social change to at least some degree. I think there needs to be a mix of radicalism and conservatism in every society.
