Employer decided that they could supercede the Constitution

submitted by con77 to Gunnews 2.4 yearsJan 12, 2022 17:31:44 ago (+18/-0)     (Gunnews)

They decided that they didnt want any concealed carriers to practice their 2nd Amendment rights.

Employees work out of the office at different locations and handle cash.

The hypocrite in charge carries a gun.

My employer handed me a paper granting them the right to search me and my personal vehicle ON OR OFF the premises.

The first one I just shitcanned. The second time the manager personally handed me a copy and asked me to sign.

I told him Id have my attoeney look at it. left. shit canned it. And never heard another word.

Notify them that the attorney responded and he believes this is a violation of "18 U.S. Code ยง 241 - Conspiracy against rights" which is a felony. If you (the employer) choose to pursue this policy he'll be forced to move for criminal prosecution.

Everyone should be focused on their own businesses and a creating separate liberal free economy. helping each other NOT pay taxes.

I've carried a pistol since I was 21. Even before it was legal. Not really, but I'm not going to explain that.

[ - ] GoatsAdvocate 0 points 2.4 yearsJan 12, 2022 20:47:07 ago (+0/-0)

You allegedly carried one before it was legal

What are they afraid of? Just virtue signaling?

[ - ] DonaldJTrump 2 points 2.4 yearsJan 12, 2022 18:14:07 ago (+2/-0)

They're afraid of liability, which apparently means they can trample on your rights. Imagine if some nig nog ook a dooks his way into getting his ass shot while con77 is in the clock. "Legally" liable or not, the "family" will attempt to sue at the very least. They may even experience a niggacane at their office.

This seems to be the paradigm as of late, including with the vaccine issue. It's how you know constitutional rights are going in the trash. No private business has to accept the liability of you exercising your God-given rights, goy! They act like this is simply a market-governed issue. Yeah, just like college degrees have followed market principles. And vaccine mandates. No, what we have is government side-stepping the Constitution and using incentives for businesses to trample your rights as 'private entities'. And purchased judges being paid to set anti-Constitutional precedents as a means of coercing businesses into doing this. In other words, it became possible for the government to not directly interfere with your basic rights, but to do it indirectly through private enterprise, the tax system and the courts.

Huh I've never heard of a company being that paranoid. But maybe it's just because I live in red states.

[ - ] DonaldJTrump 0 points 2.4 yearsJan 13, 2022 13:32:49 ago (+0/-0)

I've worked for nationwide companies that wouldn't let you out of the building unless you were off the clock for fear of liability.

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 2.4 yearsJan 13, 2022 21:35:50 ago (+0/-0)

Perhaps what I made up based on what OP said is not what he meant. I had the impression the company was telling him he couldn't concealed carry during his off hours. If they are saying he cannot carry WHILE WORKING, well, they are sort of responsible for that. If you hire a security guard, you get to choose right: armed guard, unarmed guard. Then no one has to be an unarmed guard if they don't want, but it does make sense that they get to pick which tools you are using for the job. Of course it's a bit sketch when they're asking you to use your own vehicle which presumably has your own stuff in it. If they're going to be picky about what you keep it in, they better also be pretty specific that you are lending them the use of your vehicle as part of your job.

A lot of places are not nearly that paranoid. They will let you use your personal vehicle for work -- reimburse your mileage probably -- and not care what you keep in it or have any formal agreement about it. You COULD , if you sustain an injury during the course of your job make a claim about it. That's "liability" in a certain sense, but it's a kind they're not getting out of. If you choose to kill someone during the course of your job, justified or otherwise, yeah that could be a problem. It's so rare I don't think most shops worry about it.

Imagine the PR. But any exposure is good exposure, right?

Good on you for not giving in when they tried to coerce you into giving up one of your rights.

the right to search me and my personal vehicle ON OR OFF the premises

It really irks me when employers try to dictate what you do outside of work. I started working for a place about a year ago and in the stack of initial HR paperwork, there was a pledge to be tobacco-free, even when I'm not at work. I get wanting to keep the actual workplace smoke-free, ok fine I suppose, though I think people should be allowed to smoke outside at least. But outside of work? What the hell is that? I like a cigar from time to time and that's not something I should even be ashamed of, much less promise not to do anymore.

[ - ] localsal 1 point 2.4 yearsJan 12, 2022 22:16:33 ago (+1/-0)

Part of that can be traced to (((health insurance))) and rates they pay.

If they can show proof that the employees are not in a high(er) risk group, then the company can get discounts.

Some time ago, a few big companies had a "healthy lifestyle" discount as well, actually giving employees a bonus for exercising, on and off work hours.

Not saying that is the reason, but it could be one possibility. Companies will do a lot to save a hefty chunk of cash.

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 1 point 2.4 yearsJan 12, 2022 23:29:58 ago (+1/-0)

I would say if they want to wink and someone's stupid enough to give them a discount on health insurance based on that, great. I'm gonna do what I do while not at work.

That's a good point I hadn't thought of. Thanks

[ - ] thebearfromstartrack4 1 point 2.4 yearsJan 12, 2022 17:33:33 ago (+1/-0)

They ALL think they can do that. They FIRE anyone who questions them. I dunno, is there some OTHER reason that we keep them around? Alive? Are they a necessary evil? They DO NOT care that they trample YOUR rights. You HAVE to PUNISH them so it HURTS.

[ - ] con77 [op] 1 point 2.4 yearsJan 12, 2022 20:42:54 ago (+1/-0)

do you have a job? I'd appreciate an answer.

What

[ - ] BitterVeteran 0 points 2.4 yearsJan 13, 2022 09:06:19 ago (+0/-0)

Tell them it's not your personal vehicle. Then sign it over to a friend.

Or, the best option, don't conceal carry. Get a holster and Open Carry.

Concealed carry is slightly gay.

Should've gotten him to countersign it then taken it with you.
