Yes, there would have been one or two people screeching about it being racist. But even they wouldn't truly be upset. They'd be doing it because they'd think they have to; that if they don't, they'd be seen as evil.

Meanwhile, everyone else would look at it with pride. Knowing that they themselves, and their people, are capable of greatness.

The real impressive thing is building it with the tools they had.
Ancient stone carvers who could create highly realistic statues are incredible.

This is a really inconvenient truth. Go to any art or history museum and recorded history from Africa starts early 1900s and its just cargo cult shit from airplane wreckage. Maybe some shit masks like you linked but its insulting to even be in the same building as White masterpieces

I remember as a kid, going to these "tribal" sections of the museum. Hated everything about it. Nothing beautiful, just caricatures at best. When I learned the actual age of the "art", I wondered if they let children create it.
