As soon as I seen Amazon’s solution to this was just to be allowed to enter your house, I thought why don’t people just have a delivery box on the side of their house with a 1 time digital lock code they issue each courier!
And if security got real serious it could be a biometric fingerprint lock and the courier would have to send you their scan to code the lock with.
No part of that would be expensive.

You can do that. I looked into setting that up, but the delivery drivers are too retarded to even be aware that theres a box, much less find the lockbox, get the code correct, and be able to enter the code.

I figured in the case the courier made it difficult you could still make an auto locking door on the box and leave it open for them.
Then it would at least work for 1 delivery at a time. And most fedex types allow you to make special delivery instructions.
As long as the box is within easy line of site from the front door, I can see it working in my area.
I live on a busy street I’m always worried about but I guess we’re still white enough here that it hasn’t happened to me yet. The thieves only cruise the back alleys in my neighbourhood..

Really it could be as simple as a box with a self locking lid you leave open that says “mailbox” on it.

I have stuff delivered every day. Nobody has stolen anything. My neighbors said some of their shit was stolen, but I saw the video and it looked more like the courier was confused and dropped it down the street.
