The weight up to 700lbs and can carry 500lbs of meat off the ground in their mouths. They can run up to 80mph for short distances and maintain a run of 60mph for sustained duration. Their black coat makes them almost invisible at night when they hunt. They have the unusable habit of sleeping high up in trees even though they have no predators in there environment.In the 1800s they were exported to America mainland for fighting and would be used to fight against bears and gorillas along with elephants. They became nearly extinct by the 1990s however their populations are starting to recover thanks to help from Tiger Talk and other non profits rescue programs. There are now approximately over 700 in the wild and 22 in captivity. They are actively breed and one day will no longer be on the potential extinction list.
