The Unprintable Tee Shirt

Every print-on-demand place I order this design from cancels it for "community guidelines". Even a friend who runs a print shop in his basement "forgot about" it (after I already paid him). If anyone knows a clothing print place that isn't run by faaaaaaags, you should let me know.

Consider DIYing it.

Knife plotters cost around 200 bucks and you could make all kinds of stuff with them. The vinyl can be fused to the shirt with a domestic iron. You can invest in a hot roller if you find yourself making hundreds of them.

If you're not picky about the colour I'd go with a bleach stencil. Costs pennies and it's a fun DIY project for a weekend. The results look awesome to me.

That bleach method looks cool. I'll try this, though maybe with less complicated design at first.

With the bleach methods the most expensive part is the shirts. Make sure you buy a few extra for doing tests. Also make sure they have at least some natural fiber: Pure nylon or polyester ones won't bleach.

Look for screen printers in Asia. They don't give any fucks. Find a website where the engrish is just barely readable and that should be what you're looking for.

Looks like it would be an easy enough pair of silk screens. Make them yourself and get RICH!!

Silk screening is a high end technique for if you want hundreds to tens of thousands of something. I commented above with a couple of lower cost and effort methods.

I guess. It's how we made all sorts of custom t-shirts back in the day, but yeah. Stencils and spray paint are easier... which might be one of your suggestions. Maybe I'll take a break from work and read through this thread again once I get a chance.

I actually didn't think of spray paint, good call. If you could get paint flexible and heatproof enough to go through a washing machine that'd be great. They add all kinds of plasticisers to screenprinting ink to make it not flake off.

That's a cool thing about spray paint. After going through a couple washes, the solids wash away, but the pigment remains. At least in our limited experiences with this approach [we've made like two shirts this way, and they were both done as jokes but came out better than expected].

You could make patches en masse with a wood engraving stamp thing.

Or just make a negative image and get a silk screen made then you can print them at home and save a lot of time and money
