Possibly, but he'd tipped the pole down @10-11 seconds before.In fact, the filmer makes the film red at 40 seconds when the pole dips upside down as if to say: Set off -contact fuse had a timer delay. A cell phone would make more sense as 1) Someone was filming it from the other side of the wire so there was eyes on. 2) Flagpole would make a great antenna/contact. 3) The blast filmmaker seems to be bragging about getting 5 instead of 1.

It could have been either. The IEDs the US faced in the mideast were mostly remotely detonated by a remote electrical signal, it's quite common. Getting to the other side of the fence to plant an IED would be out of the question as the IDF likely has some electonic monitoring, this was brilliant on the bomb makers part.
