There were dumb fucks laying on the beautiful white sandy beach wearing only bathing suits- and a fucking face mask, even idiots swimming in the freezing 68 degree clear water with a mask on….
There were more masks in the sea oats than beer cans after the fireworks on the beach on NYE…WTF.

I grew up in CA and remember sometimes complaining about the 'heat' and people would say 'but, it's a dry heat'. And I had no idea what they meant. Now I live in south-east Texas. Holy shit, give me dry-heat any day! Any outside chore is measured in buckets of sweat dripping off.

I live in the pineywoods too! I have lived in drier climates though and I actually really prefer the humidity. My throat would get really scratchy and my skin would get too dry when I lived in less humid areas. You just have to accept that in the summer, your clothes are going to be wet at the end of every day. Haha

We've only been here about 18 months. The first neighbor that came over and introduced himself and found we were new the region said "welcome to the pineywoods". Not to crazy about the 'cedar season', though.

Don't listen to that bs .. I had to put a blanket on overnight and it wasn't enough I was still cold, it was about fourteen degrees with wind chill by my reckoning, which is waaaaay below normal.

We regularly get 100% humidity here in Texas, too, in the summer. It's not a fog but usually clouds overhead that will randomly produce rain, even when it's sunny. We call that "the devil's beatin his wife"
