It won't stop. It's a free pass for a week off work. They'll even have the audacity to tell you, that you owe them money while they dont work and dont have any symptoms.
"Has become"? Always was. You also have to worry about them poisoning you with something they're shoving up your nose or using it to collect your DNA.
Governments are really trying to get everyone's DNA, I can imagine multiple nefarious reasons why they'd want it but I haven't heard any leaks giving a definite reason for the collection.
