Check public record. It varies by state, and sometimes county. Property Appraiser's Office (Assessor) is a great place to look. The county clerk of court will also have mortgages on record, but I can't say whether or would denote primary residence or not. Of course, this assumes your subject owns rather than rents.
And remember, there are exemptions for politicians(and a few other provisions) being listed in public record.
